I’ve recently come to four realizations about this Blog.

  1. It’s A Great Spot To Say Thank You!

Rob, Thank You!

You rolled the dice on the Brokers Journey gig, and I’m grateful you did.

We had a blast this year, and no doubt we will again next year!

2. The Amount Of Time Invested Is Real!

1,000+++ hours

Mostly on Saturday morning’s; because deadlines.

Hours invested in thinking, writing, editing, re-writing, proofreading (3X) uploading, still more re-writing, & posting… then rewriting some more.

A blog, book, or newsletter is a living breathing thing that requires constant attention.

Hours and hours of life.

Which leads to a critical question worth asking more often;

Q. What is the ROI on all this time invested?

A. See the next point (#3)

3. This Blog Creates Value (For Me As Well)

It’s helped shape my ability to think, my thinking in general, my understanding of our business, the markets, one another, and so much more. This work has helped improve my writing skills, and often the writing becomes a video script, so it’s helped my video skills, presentation skills, meeting skills, and more.

This weekly post has helped on a social level, which in turn further fuels the trajectory of my business. Because the more one writes, the more one is compelled to research, fact check, ask fellow professionals questions. Questions about topics, content, stats, edits, etc. This in turns creates an ever expanding and deepening network of curious/helpful professionals.

The ROI can be far reaching indeed.

And the dividends often continue for years and years.

4. My style needs to evolve.

More than a decade later, I realize how rarely I put questions to readers.

I know there are 3,979 subscribers.

I know 56% on average click through to the post.

Beyond this, what do I know about you?

What you know about fellow readers?

Perhaps it’s time for a short survey?

Maybe next week.

This week I leave you with questions to answer for yourself alone;

What are you doing consistently?

How many years have you been doing it?

Can you confirm the ROI is meaningful?

Is it time to make some changes?

Maybe quitting?

Maybe not.

I will not quit this Blog.

Maybe changing up how you do it, what it looks like?

Next weeks post, it will not be like any of the ones before it.

Thanks for being on this journey with me!
