I will share with you one of the best tips (for my own sanity) that flowed from the many mastermind sessions I have been a part of.

The comment made was to ‘create an “end-of-workday” ritual’. My ritual is connected to my Excel client-tracking spreadsheet. I quickly open a few dozen empty emails, and I title each one “Update mm/dd” and I send every single active client (not pre-apps — only the truly active) a daily update.

Communication is key.

Knowing that I have touched base with every single active file allows me to walk away from my phone for a few hours each evening, and for most of the weekends with a clear mind and a clear inbox. Clients have the same clarity and calmness. In fact, rarely does my phone ring at all after hours.

My clients know where they stand. Make sure yours do too, each and every day.

***Bonus Tip: For building this into a habit, set a daily calendar reminder at or around your typical day end titled ‘DAILY CLIENT UPDATE’.
